VEGETARIAN RECIPE

Fire Cheeses

I’ve been cooking this classic for years now. At most events I'll start the celebrations off with this, hot from the fire to a tree stump next to the fire.  I thought it’s about time I shared this recipe with you!! It’s going to become a campfire favourite for sure, and you can switch the cheeses around. I suggest you use a soft cheese, a hard cheddar and blue, but why don’t you play around with this.

Ingredients

250g round of brie or camembert cheese

Grilled bread or baguette.

Honeycomb

Equipment:
Fire pit, cast-iron pan

- Serves 4 -

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Light your fire 30 minutes before you are ready to cook, and let it burn down until you obtain a low heat.

  2. Place a cast-iron chargrill pan on the fire so it gets nice and hot (you can also use a cast-iron frying pan).

  3. Add the cheeses and cook until golden and starting to melt. Flip the cheese just once – don’t turn the soft cheese over as it will fall apart.

  4. Once the cheeses are hot and melty, serve with grilled bread and honeycomb.
