WILDEST PLACE YOU’VE TRAVELLED
Scott: Kolkata, India. This place has so much. The people, the food, and the culture. It’s beautiful, yet difficult all in the same space. I worked there as a nurse for 3 months in an HIV/AIDS clinic. I think it gave me the greatest appreciation for human value.
Amy: Deia in Mallorca, Spain with our 4 and 1 year old. The wildest, wonderful, hardest, cherished trip together.
Scott & Amy enjoying travel and family
Wild Kitchen
WOULDN’T go to the wild without these 5
Scott: Shoes, hat, towel, underwear, Amy.
WILDEST PLACE YOU’VE EVER COOKED
Scott: Not that wild to be fair. Either just camping or bacon and egg rolls out at the beach on the gas cooker (Boat Harbour).
Amy: A family tradition whenever we’re in Byron is to do pancakes on the BBQ at Wategoes Beach.
WILDEST RECIPE you’ve tried
Scott & Amy: Maybe not recipe, but eating Ostrich and Springbok in Africa was pretty wild.
WILDEST ITEM IN YOUR KITCHEN
Scott & Amy: We’ve just build a wood fire pizza oven in the backyard!
So it’s not in the kitchen, but we can’t wait to fire it up. Currently just curing it, so we can really heat it up.
Scott & Amy in places around Australia that are special to them
Wild Business
YOUR CAREER CHOICE IS A WILD (NON-TRADITIONAL) ONE, HOW DID YOU START?
Scott: Oddly enough I was working as a flight attendant and found I had quite a bit of time in different parts of Asia. With this I started researching how to manufacture, import and export products, and that was pretty much the start of the journey. We actually started out making shoes, but found this to be super difficult from a cash flow perspective. I essentially always loved the idea of doing something different, primarily something that gave me time, or allowed me to work hours that I liked. Come full circle, I think I work a lot harder now, but we do it together, and we juggle work and family in one crazy mess.
DID YOU EVER THINK THIS IS TOO WILD? I’LL NEVER MAKE A CAREER FROM IT?
Scott & Amy: No not really. We’ve certainly had some hard times, but it all depends on perspective. Large or small, this is just what we wanted to do. Life is too short to run someone else’s race.
ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE TRYING TO START A CAREER IN STARTUPS/EXPERIENCE
Scott & Amy: Don’t stop, just keep going and don’t stress if it’s not perfect. Perfection can sometimes create a stagnant start-up.
WHAT’s NEXT?
Scott & Amy: We love what we do, but we are working on another project that we hope to launch early next year.
